Youssoufa Moukoko is OGC Nice's newest signing

Learn all you need to know about the young striker OGC Nice have signed on loan from Borussia Dortmund, Youssoufa Moukoko. While the Cameroon-born German international is yet to make his Ligue 1 McDonald's debut, he remains an intriguing profile and before we return to action with Matchday 4, we're giving you all you need to know about Les Aiglons' young attacker.

Setting records from a young age

Youssoufa Moukoko is both the youngest player to have played in the Bundesliga (16 years and 1 day against Hertha in November 2020) and the youngest goalscorer in the history of the competition (16 years and 28 days against Union Berlin in December 2020).

The Nice recruit has scored 17 goals in 76 appearances in the Bundesliga, he is the youngest player to have reached the 17-goal mark in the history of the championship (19 years 5 months 14 days, during his goal in April 2024 against Augsburg).

Youngest player in the Champions League

Only Paco Alcacer (12) has scored more goals as a substitute for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga than Youssoufa Moukoko (10).

Youssoufa Moukoko is the youngest player to have played for Germany at a major tournament, at 18 years and 3 days against Japan at the 2022 World Cup.

He is also the youngest player in the history of the Champions League (16 years and 18 days against Zenit in December 2020).

Speaking on Moukoko's signing to the club's website, it is also clear that club president Jean-Pierre Rivère is excited about the youngster's potential, “Youssoufa was a striker in high demand, and we’re delighted to see him join us,” explained Rivère. “The transfer window is about opportunities; this was a good one, and we took it. We wish Youssouf welcome.”

Rivère's words were also echoed by the club's sporting director, Florian Maurice: “He’s a player that’s brimming with quality, is good in behind and is gifted in front of goal. Despite his young age [19], he’s already an international with Germany and possesses real experience of top-level football. He’ll give us a different profile up front.”

With the confidence of the club's hierarchy behind him and an impressive record at a young age, Moukoko has all of the tools necessary to make a big difference on the pitch this season with Nice -- we can't wait to see what's next!
