Recap: João Neves' Two Assists Power PSG Past Le Havre

Paris Saint-Germain's bench was the difference maker in their 4-1 road victory over Le Havre as both teams kicked off the 2024-25 Ligue 1 season on Friday night at Stade Océane.

PSG didn't waste any time finding the back of the net as Kang-in Lee scored in the third minute to give the away side an early 1-0 lead. The Parisians would generate five total shots but couldn't add a second goal before halftime.

The Parisians were dealt bad news, though, in the first 45 minutes as Gonçalo Ramos left the contest early after suffering an injury. He would exit the contest in the 20th minute with Randal Kolo Muani coming in to replace Ramos.

Le Havre came close to leveling the score in the 28th minute, but after a VAR review, their goal was disallowed. Despite the home side having three shots in the first half, PSG avoided conceding a goal.

While Les Parisiens avoided conceding a goal in the first half, that wasn't the case in the second half. Le Havre leveled the scoring 1-1 courtesy of a goal from Gautier Lloris in the 48th minute, and Le Club Doyen nearly had a second goal.

Seven minutes after leveling the score, Le Havre thought they'd taken the lead in the 55th minute with a goal from Josué Casimir, but a VAR review disallowed the goal, keeping the match tied at 1-1.

Manager Luis Enrique leaned on his bench to provide the scoring punch as João Neves, Ousmane Dembélé, and Bradley Barcola all came onto the pitch in the second half and changed the tide of the match.

Neves assisted Dembélé's goal in the 85th minute and Barcola's goal in the 86th minute as PSG quickly snatched a victory from La Havre. Kolo Muani added the fourth goal on a penalty kick to give the reigning Ligue 1 champions a 4-1 win to start this new season.
