2024 Copa América Final Preview: Argentina, Colombia Clash

Lionel Scaloni and his squad are looking to win back-to-back Copa América trophies after winning the competition in 2021 and the FIFA World Cup in 2022. Olympique Lyonnais' Nicolás Tagliafico has featured in all five matches (four games as a starter) in this tournament for Argentina.

Other players on La Albiceleste with ties to Ligue 1 are former Paris Saint-Germain standouts Ángel Di María, Lionel Messi, Leandro Paredes, and Giovani Lo Celso. Di María has one assist in this tournament while Messi has one goal and one assist.

Argentina secured wins over Canada, Chile, and Peru in the group stage, while in the knockout stage, they defeated Ecuador in a penalty kick shootout and had a 2-0 win over Canada to advance to the final. On the other side, Colombia have had an impressive Copa América as they march onto the final.

Former AS Monaco James Rodríguez has been the star for Colombia in this competition as the 33-year-old has one goal and six assists in five matches. The Colombians went through the group stage with wins over Costa Rica and Paraguay while drawing with Brazil.

In the knockout stage, Los Cafeteros secured a convincing 5-0 win over Panama and a tightly contested 1-0 victory over Uruguay. Colombia aim to win its second-ever Copa América trophy and extend its current 27-match unbeaten streak.
