Gonçalo Ramos’ Hat-Trick Snaps PSG’s Two-Match Ligue 1 Losing Streak

It was nearly a quiet first 45 minutes from the two sides, but the teenager Senny Mayulu broke the scoreless deadlock with a goal in the 44th minute.

The youngster played an unintentional one-two with Warren Zaïre-Emery, who luckily gets it back to him. Mayulu then blasted a powerful shot into the side netting, leaving Benjamin Lecomte with no chance to make the save.

PSG headed into halftime with a one-goal lead, but the scoring would pick up in the second half. In the final 45 minutes, Gonçalo Ramos extended the capital club's lead to two goals in the 49th minute.

Mayulu played Ibrahim Mbaye through with a precise ball, and Mbaye squared it for a perfectly placed, deflected finish from Ramos. The goal-scoring for the Portuguese didn't stop there as he recorded a brace in the 59th minute as Ramos converted a penalty kick.

Even though they conceded three goals, Montpellier did show fight as Tanguy Coulibaly scored in the 64th minute. Coulibaly easily dribbled past Lucas Beraldo and followed it up with a shot into the side netting past Arnau Tenas to make it 3-1.

One minute later, though, Ramos scored to restore PSG's three-goal lead and record his hat-trick. Found in the box by Tenas with his back to goal, Ramos shifted to the side and unleashed a thunderous shot that went in off the underside of the crossbar to seal the 4-1 win.

After the match, Luis Enrique shared his thoughts about Mayulu's performance against Montpellier.

"I like him a lot. I was delighted that he stayed. It’s tough to be a starter at PSG, especially in this PSG team. He’s important for the club’s future — for his technical ability, physical attributes, and versatility."

"We tested him as a full-back tonight, and he can play that position too. He has a very strong personality and is always ready. Of course, he’s playing less than he would like, but he has a lot of character."
