The home side will look to replicate their performance against Marseille, in which three players contributed to the scoring. Takumi Minamino scored in the first half, with Breel Embolo and Denis Zakaria adding two other goals in the final 45 minutes.

Even with the win over OM, Monaco can’t afford to slip up. They’re sitting on 53 points, but with just five matches left in the 2024-25 Ligue 1 McDonald's season, only five points separate them from seventh-place OGC Nice (48 points).

One of the teams right behind them is Strasbourg, which will be looking for a bounce-back performance after dropping points against Nice.

RCSA held a 2-1 lead late after goals from Emanuel Emegha and Sam Amo-Ameyaw in last weekend’s match against Le Gym. They were on their way to three points, but a late goal from Nice’s Youssouf Ndayishimiye saw the two sides leave with one point instead.

Ahead of the match, which will see both teams need all three points, Monaco manager Adi Hütter shared his thoughts on the contest, noting that his side is facing a team that’s in great form right now.

“This will be a match between two teams that are playing at a high level and are currently in great form. Strasbourg have been unbeaten for several weeks, have won four of their last five matches, and were close to beating Nice last weekend. They are fresh, young, and in good form, but we are solid at home right now and we are also in good form.”

Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior wants his side to use that disappointing draw against Nice to fuel them in their away match against Monaco.

“There was frustration after that goal at the end of the match. But we quickly turned the tide with a good training session yesterday and one thing in mind: Monaco. We’ve been planning this training camp for a while. It’s coming at the right time. We’ll be able to refocus together for several days.”
