A legend on Boca's bench, Carlos Bianchi is the second-highest foreign score in Ligue 1 history

Carlos Bianchi: Stade de Reims 1973-77, 84-85, Paris Saint-Germain 1977-79, RC Strasbourg 1979-80

A five-time Ligue 1 scoring champion, Bianchi also helped Stade de Reims to a Coupe de France final, finishing his time in France as the second-highest foreign scorer after countryman Delio Onnis. While Bianchi came of age as a player at a different club in Argentina, Velez Sarsfield, his spells as manager at the Bombonera, from 1998-2001 and 2003-4, were the stuff of legend, as he won four league titles, three Copa Libertadores and even beat AC Milan and Real Madrid in intercontinental competition.

Edinson Cavani: Paris Saint-Germain 2013-20

The prolific Uruguayan left the capital as a serial winner, and as the team's all-time top scorer. With PSG, in addition to six league titles, he also helped them reach the 2020 Champions League final. Having joined Boca in 2023, he's experienced similar success, helping the team reach the Libertadores final in 2023, and sealing a place in this summer's Club World Cup

Leonardo Balerdi: Olympique de Marseille 2021-

Despite having just been injured, Balerdi, who has recently become a regular for his country, has been a lynchpin in defence for l'OM since arriving, initially on loan in 2021. After making a handful of appearances for Boca after coming through their academy, he came to Europe with Borussia Dortmund, but has made himself indispensable since moving to the Stade Vélodrôme.

Dario Benedetto: Olympique de Marseille 2019-21

Benedetto is something of a cult figure at Boca, having had a fantastic 2016-17 season, finishing as top scorer as they won the title. Following an injury, he joined Marseille, where had a prolific first season before his performances tailed off to some degree. A second stint with Boca saw more success, and he now plays for Paraguayan giants Olimpía.

Leandro Paredes: Paris Saint-Germain 2019-22

The combative midfielder came to the capital from Zenit St. Petersburg in 2019, and spent parts of five seasons at the Parc des Princes. A regular for club and country, he contributed to seven major trophies for PSG while also being a part of the World Cup-winning squad in 2022.

Other players to have featured in both Ligue 1 McDonald's and for the club include current RC Strasbourg player Valentín Barco, Hugo Ibarra and Sergio Romero (AS Monaco) and current Boca player Ander Herrera, who spent three seasons with Paris Saint-Germain!

Happy Birthday Boca Juniors!
