Two red cards, five goals, and lots of chaos in Friday night's action between FC Annecy and Paris FC, but Les Parisiens managed to find a way through to win 3-2 after being pegged back twice. Jean-Phillipe Krasso opened the scoring (10') before Larose put in an equaliser for the hosts (19'). Bane was shown a straight red for Annecy before PFC took the lead once again via Illan Kebbal's chipped effort (57') but Ganiou was on hand to turn home and deny Les Parisiens again (61'). But Adama Camara managed to put his side ahead for one final time against the ten-men turning in Maxime Lopez's square ball (62') only a minute later. Karim Cissé was then given a second yellow and became Annecy's second sending off of the evening, and it looked impossible to fight back after going down to nine men.
Elsewhere, league leaders Lorient continue to set the pace at the top of the table with a 3-1 win over Rodez on Saturday night, bouncing back from their defeat to Laval last weekend. Bentayeb opened the scoring for the away side, before Pablo Katseris got Les Merlus back on level terms just before the half-time whistle. Eli Junior Kroupi's penalty put the Bretons back in front, before Laurent Abergel's late strike confirmed the three points for Lorient.
Dunkerque saw off Ajaccio (2-1) to keep up the pressure in third place, whilst Metz had to come from behind against Amiens to win at Stade de la Licorne thanks to goals from Benjamin Stambouli and Gauthier Hein.
Plenty of action at the bottom has seen some vital wins for Caen, Red Star, and Martigues in the battle to stay up in the league. SM Caen travelled to fellow strugglers Clermont following their draw against Pau last weekend (2-2) where Michel De Zakarian's side would have felt they deserved the three points. This time they went one better, with Kalifa Coulibaly netting late on to take lead, after Alexandre Mendy fluffed his second penalty in two games earlier in the match. Encouragement for Caen, who won their first game in four months.
Yet, the result for Martigues was even more important - the Sang & Or have moved to one point from the relegation play-off zone occupied by Clermont after they scored in the final minute of injury time against Laval (90+4') via Steve Solvet's looped header from a free-kick.
Red Star also left it late this weekend, managing to complete a season double over EA Guingamp. Whilst Les Audoniens went behind following a Junior Mendes' superb opener (16'). Captain Loïc Kougba volleyed home the equaliser at Stade Bauer for the hosts at an important juncture just before the end of the first half. L'Étoile Rouge then went ahead late on through Kemo Cissé, skipping through the Breton defence and finishing after a great save from Basilio. In the folie of the celebrations at Bauer, Cissé would then grab his brace after Aliou Badji skipped past the Guingamp defence on the counter attack, but his strike would be saved and Cissé followed up on the rebound to bury home for the three points.
