With the addition of his 31st trophy, Marquinhos has not only become the most decorated player in PSG's history but also the most successful in French football.
His impressive haul includes nine Ligue 1 titles, seven Coupes de France, six Coupes de la Ligue, and nine Trophées des Champions, surpassing his former teammate Marco Verratti by one trophy.
Behind Marquinhos is Verratti, who has an impressive collection of 30 trophies. The Italian midfielder claimed nine Ligue 1 McDonald’s titles, six Coupes de France, six Coupes de la Ligue, and nine Trophées des Champions during his time in the French capital.
Tied for third are Thiago Silva and Presnel Kimpembe, each with 23 trophies and Edinson Cavani rounds out the top five with 21 trophies to his name.
Marquinhos didn't have to wait long to win his first trophy with PSG as the Parisians lifted the Ligue 1 McDonald's title, Coupe de la Ligue, and Trophées des Champions in 2014 after he arrived from AS Roma in 2013.
The Brazilian has also been part of the PSG squads that won the double in 2014-15, 2015-16, 2017-18, 2019-20, and 2023-24. Before securing his 31st trophy, Marquinhos spoke with the media, sharing insights into his mindset when battling for silverware.
"We have a very demanding coach, so we know the importance of every game we play. The coach is just as demanding in every game. We're at Paris Saint-Germain, so we want to win all our games and win trophies. [On Sunday] we have this opportunity and we know how important it is to seize it."
Marquinhos has the chance to further his trophy collection this season, with PSG still competing in the Coupe de France and UEFA Champions League while also sitting atop the Ligue 1 McDonald's standings.
This year could be another trophy-filled season for the defender as he continues to add to his legacy, not only at PSG but in French football.
