Olivier Dall'Oglio has been dismissed as the coach of AS Saint-Étienne

Saint-Étienne coach Olivier Dall'Oglio has been relieved of his duties, we learned Saturday from ASSE.

The decision comes the day after Les Stéphanois' defeat in Toulouse (2-1), their tenth of the season, after which they find themselves in 16th place in Ligue 1 McDonald's.

Huard in charge until further notice

"Until further notice, the direction of the first team will be provided by Laurent Huard, director of the academy", specifies a press release from ASSE published Saturday at the end of the day.

Les Verts, who have only won four matches and drawn one, are due to host Marseille on December 22 in the round of 64 of the Coupe de France.

Aged 60, Dall'Oglio arrived in Saint-Étienne on December 12, 2023 to replace Laurent Batlles, while the team were playing in Ligue 2 BKT.

With Olivier Dall'Oglio, AS Saint-Étienne managed to climb the table to finish 3rd before snatching promotion to Ligue 1 McDonald's by beating Metz in the play-offs.

Dall'Oglio, who also has had spells in the top flight with Dijon, Brest and Montpellier HSC, leaves the team with a 46% win ratio, but a poor record defensively -- only bottom side Montpellier have conceded more goals in Ligue 1 McDonald's this season.
